DIY idea: Spruce Up Old Picture Frames

Turn your plain, old, or ugly frames into shabby-chic wall hangings! (On the cheap too!)

This plain gold frame was in a box of old things that belonged to my Granny. I couldn't imagine throwing it out, and it didn't blend well with anything in my house. So....After a little scrapbook paper, twine, and hot glue........
I painted the frame with plain ol' acrylic paint, then after drying completely, I distressed it a little with a kitchen scrubber. I placed scrap booking paper in the back of the frame and wrapped twine around it.

Then I hot glued some randomly placed vintage buttons (Thanks to Memaw!) onto the twine! B-E-A-utiful!

This frame I did NOT paint because it looked way too cool!

I used different colors of scrap book paper in each frame, but to make them coordinate well, each paper had the same pattern.
I bought this frame for $1 at the dollar store when I first moved into my own apartment. It started out black and boring...I painted it royal purple, then light purple before I sanded the edges a little bit. The chain came from an old necklace. Crafty!

   The possibilities are endless!

hAppy crAftIng yA'll!
